If anyone out there has a home remedy for acne- please fil me in! I have tried white toothpaste (it works to a degree) and everything else OTC, but if someone has a old home remedy, let me know! I don’t mean severe acne, I mean ones that pop up from time to time. I wash my face with a mild soap twice a day with lukewarm water and follow up with a cold rinse to close pores. Help anyone?

ok, don’t use soap. when i use soap, it makes my skin worse. i have the same problem. but what i use is “clean and clear” morning burst in the mornings, and then at night i use their normal scrub. another thing that is REALLY good is clinique exfoliating scrub. it’s very powerful and it makes your skin feel fresh and minty. clinique is known for their facial products, and they’re a trusted brand. so i highly suggest something by them. home remedies tend to not work. so sorry i didn’t know any of those. all i can do is reccomend what i did since i had the same problem. i hope i could help. good luck girl!
*one more thing, someone said to use lemon juice and PLEASE don’t use that. it turns my skin pitch white and it’s there for about a year. it never fades because the citrus juice is known for making the skin lighter and making frekles disappear. so please, don’t use lemons if you don’t want to look like you have a pigment disorder

If you just get the odd spot or something then I would suggest using a daily face scrub, then a lotion and a cream which you dab onto each spot. I find clearasil ultra good but different makes work different for different skin types.
Just experiment really..but you gotta keep it up cos they dont just go over night as you probably know…skin also takes 28 days to re-form so just be patient really.
You could go to your doctor though and they will just give you a gentle cream rather than a strong one for severe acne.
What doctors give you is always far better than over the counter products but if its just the odd spot then over the counter stuff is fine.
Good luck with it

Dissolve Sea Salt (about a cup full) in a luke warm water bath and immerse your face / slash part of your body as much as you can. More salt you can do the better – but beware it can irritate your skin for a while, but don’t stay in there longer than 45 minutes and drink some fruit juice (for sugar) after as it will lower your blood pressure. Also make sure you shower with fresh water 10 mins after to clean the salt from your body.

I have a few ways not so much remedies:
For oily skin –
1. Wash your face with salt water (if you have access to some) or you can make it yourself.
2. Exfoliate every other day with one of those orange sponges that neutrogena has. Use the Neutrogena face soap that says prone to acne on the box.
3. Make an oatmeal facial mask. (I do this all the time)
For Dry skin-
1. Wash only once per day.
2. Lotion at night (lotions made with benzoyl peroxide) or if you have sensitive skin (some peoples skin gets irritated with benzoyl peroxide) get some Vitamin E capsules pop it and put the gel from capsule on your face. This is also great for acne scars.
I recently got a chemical peel. It’s not nearly as bad as it sounds. I would reccommend it to anyone who has slightly bad skin. You will peel a bit but only for a day or so.
I hope these help!

Try using egg white it works for me. If u add a pinch of salt to one egg white and rub it into your skin (it may tingle a little) , leave it on until it dries wash with hot water and then rinse with cold water. ( This closes your pores). In about a week or two it will look 100% better.

Clearasil vanishing cream has always been the best for spot treatment. It has 10% Benzoyl peroxide, and I’ve been using it for 20 years.
I know you wanted a home remedy, but I have always had it in my home!
Just be careful, it will bleach anything it touches i.e. pillowcases, towels and clothing.

Mix about 2 teaspoons of baking soda with a half cup of water. Wash your face with it once a day.
Apply honey all over your face for 10 minutes. Honey draws bacteria out of your pores.
An egg mask absorbs oil.
Fill up a pan with water and then heat the water. Carefully bend over to the pan (after heating it ) and let the steam cleanse your pores.Rub some ice on your face after to close your pores.
Stop using hairsprays and detanglers or whatever, because they contain oils, and when you spray them on your hair, they also get on your face and clog your pores.
